Cookieless tracking

Statistical data is collected about the use of our website. This data is used by the Insurance Centre to develop its content and communication. Data about individual visitors is not collected, and cookies are not used for creating usage statistics. The open source Matomo software is used to collect statistical data.

Anonymised data about the use of the site is collected. This includes the usage of pages and publications, the search terms used on the site, the time spent on the site and the files opened.

Statistical data about a visit to the site is not collected at all if the visitor has enabled the "Do not track" function in their browser settings.

Some pages of the site have embedded content, such as videos, hosted on a third-party platform. Third parties may use cookies in their services. For embedded content, there is a separate text providing information about third-party cookies.

Visitor data is collected in the online service as part of the monitoring of the implementation of the regulation establishing a single digital gateway (EU) 2018/1724 . In addition to the page URL, the pages connected to the digital gateway collect the number of visitors, their country, and the terminal device used. The data are collected anonymously and cannot be used to identify the user. The data will only be available to The Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre, the European Commission, and national coordinators mentioned in the regulation. The data collected are stored in the EU Commission's repository for a maximum period of three years, after which they are automatically deleted.
